Last week, on Saturday, the storms started. It was Loren's 13th birthday party, and we were going to swim. By the time it was time for the party to start, the sky was black, and it soon began to rain. One of the nine girls scheduled to come canceled, but the rest were able to come and have the party inside. We played games, opened presents, and had loads of fun. Finally, the storm lightened up, and we were able to go outside to simply throw water balloons (we had blown up at least 150 of them!). But, of course, that went by fast, and soon there were no more balloons. Some of the girls started to ask if we could swim, and mom relented! (after a little while) We swam for about 1 1/2 hours, and had a great time.
So that started the storms. The next day, Sunday, it stormed and rained most of the day, but later in the evening we were able to swim again. (we don't miss an opportunity to swim much!) On Monday, it was muggy and I think it rained a little bit, but not that much. And then Tuesday came, and everything actually looked pretty good, it wasn't dark or anything. I was at my grandparent's house for the night, and we were watching television when the power went out. I looked outside and the trees close to their house were swaying like never before. Some of the meteorologists that have been in our area for years said that this was the worst storm they had ever seen. We didn't get it that bad, but the power was off until the next evening.
I do not think that it rained much the next day, and then last night it stormed again, and at around 1:20 am, dad got us up to go to the hallway (we don't have a basement) and told us that a tornado was coming. Thankfully, it did not hit our house, and it did not even get very bad, considering.
Anyway, I believe it is supposed to be stormy for the rest of this week, and maybe on into next, but hopefully nothing will get as bad as Tuesday. I heard that at least half of the town was without power! Thankfully, God kept us from getting the brunt of the storms! :)

BRUSH YOUR TEETH!
Today I found out the good things about keeping your teeth clean. I am a strong believer in brushing my teeth at least four (or five) times a day, and when I don't get to do that, I feel nasty.
First of all you should know that I have braces, therefore go to the Orthodontist office regularly. When I do go, they give me a slip of paper that has a rating of my brushing. If I get an excellent, I am entered into a drawing for some sort of prize (sometimes it is a prize such as an ipod!). Well, today I was informed that I had won a prize of fifty dollars! I was not expecting this at all, and was pretty excited. (Who wouldn't be if they were broke at the time???)
This just goes to show you, GOOD THINGS COULD COME TO YOU IF YOU BRUSH YOUR TEETH! (notice I used the word could) :)
Good night (don't forget to brush your teeth)
